As Senior Vice President & Chief Investment Officer, Abid Dobani oversees the global investment portfolio and risk-mitigating market transactions for RBC Insurance, leveraging RBC’s scale and Global Capital Market relationships to diversify assets and increase returns. Since joining RBC in 2006 as an institutional rates trader, he has held progressively senior roles across Capital Markets and CFO in Toronto, Sydney, and London, bringing over 20 years of global cross asset financial services expertise. Beyond RBC, Abid applies his governance and risk management expertise to community projects, including migrating fossil fuel energy to solar energy across Nigeria. He holds an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management and a Mathematics degree from the University of Waterloo and enjoys traveling with his wife and three children.
